Kuin’s Sidney Correspondence Wins SCSC, MLA prizes

9780199558223_140Roger Kuin’s The Correspondence of Sir Philip Sidney (Oxford) has won the Sixteenth Century Society and Conference’s Roland H. Bainton Prize for outstanding reference work and the MLA’s Morton N. Cohen Prize for a distinguished edition of letters.

The first full edition of Philip Sidney’s correspondence, Kuin’s two-volume work includes every known letter to or from Sidney, in their original languages as well as English translation. The introduction sets the letters in their historical context, covers the material practices of letter-writing and transmission in Sidney’s era, and includes biographical sketches of Sidney’s correspondents.
